Mereside Primary School and Children's Centre converted to Academy on 1st January 2017 with the Fylde Coast Academy Trust (FCAT) and is governed by the Academy Council.  Overall operational management is delegated to the FCAT Chief Executive and then through the Executive Principal to the Principal of the academy.

The Governors meet each term and have a range of responsibilities for the school.

They are appointed to:

  1. Set standards of behaviour
  2. Decide what is taught
  3. Select staff
  4. Decide how to spend the school budget

Committees have been formed to manage each aspect of the school’s function.

Minutes of all meetings of the Governing Board are available for parents on request to the Headteacher.

Parent Governor vacancies at Mereside Academy Council

We have a vacancy for a Parent Governor on the Mereside Academy Council.

If you are interested in being considered for the position, please complete the nomination form HERE and return it to by 12 noon on Wednesday 22nd  November 2017.

Please note the list of disqualifications in Appendix A.  If you fall into any of these categories, you will not be able to be appointed to the position.

In the event of more than one person applying for the position, an election will be held amongst all Mereside School parents and the candidates with the highest number of votes will be appointed.
