Do you have a child who will be starting school in September 2017?
We have an Open Day on Wednesday 16th November, with tours at 10am and 1:30pm, a fantastic chance to see the school in action and to meet and chat with our wonderful friendly and caring staff.
Make sure you also have a look at our Nursery, and our new Atelier, and see what amazing provision we offer for your child.
The Governors of Mereside Primary School have passed a resolution to join the Fylde Coast Academy Trust. We see this as a way of strengthening our school now and into the future. It will provide leadership support and challenge within the context of a growing family of schools to continue to provide the best education we possibly can for children in Blackpool. This is about partnership working and from a child’s point of view nothing at all will change. It will mean that our school will continue to improve, having both security and challenge from our partners.
I would welcome your views, which can be sent to me via the following email address,
M Stout, Chair of Governors

As parents will be aware, Blackpool Council provide free milk for all primary-aged pupils in Blackpool schools. They have recently made a decision to switch to fluoridated milk; you can read more information about this decision HERE .
The switch will take place after the October half-term break. Parents will have the choice to receive the fluoridated milk for their child or continue with regular milk, or opt out altogether. We will be sending out letters in the coming weeks.

We have been ranked within the top 20% of schools in the country for outstanding results in reading, writing and maths by the Schools, Students and Teachers Network’s (SSAT) annual Educational Outcomes Awards. We have also been named as one of Britain’s top 10% for supporting pupils’ academic progress, with improvements in reading, writing and maths being ‘significantly higher’ than the national average.
