Problem solving

The cold weather had made all the water turn into ice outdoors. We noticed that some things were trapped. How were we ever going to get them out?

Don’t worry the children came up with, and tried out, lots of different strategies. Bashing the ice with a wooden block was most effective!

New vocabulary - Google to the rescue!

We read a story called ‘A Brave Bear’ which led to a chat about what real bears can do.

We found some deer to go with our story, and soon learned that Daddy Deer was a stag, Mummy Deer was a doe and a Baby Deer was a fawn.

And then…. one of the children asked what a Daddy Bear was called?…
